A blend of Arinto, Antao Vaz, Roupeiro and a touch of Semillion - yes, Semillon. Who knows how the Semillon got there but it did and the wine is all the better for it. Showing lovely lanolin and citrus backbone to a front of rich honeyed and almost Chardonnay-like complexities. It's barrel fermented with a portion of new oak so this with is very complex and lavish. 

I have to be honest, I didn't expect this quality or style from a Portuguese table wine.

Winery Note:

Of all the sub-regions in the Alentejo, we chose Reguengos de Monsaraz because it was the one that guaranteed full-bodied but elegant wines that are rounded and seductive, due to the combination of poor, stony soles and a tough summer climate that brings hot days and cool nights, followed by a harsh winter. It is here, in the heart of Reguengos de Monsaraz, that Alentejo wines are most balanced, whilst powerful, appealing, lively and with good ageing potential.
