From one of the highest and oldest vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, we have produced an extremely refined and powerful Pinot noir that shows its ancient and high elevation soils. As usual with the house style, the wine is still very fresh and fruit-driven, with well-defined tannins that accentuates the wild and spicy character of the site. Vineyard: Scary Gully. Farming: Biodynamic, dry grown. Aspect: SE. Planted: 1985 Clone: MV6, D5V12, Pommard. Elevation: 620m. Pruning: Spur and cane. Soil: Clay over sandstone, schist and quartzite. - Winery Note

Winery Note:

A love of wine, food and growing things eventually led us away from a vastly different background involving scuba gear and seaweed. Our winery is situated in the Basket Range of the Adelaide Hills where we try to intervene as little as possible in the growing and making of our wines. We farm a number of small parcels in Basket Range, Forest Range and Ashton. We don’t like to define our styles or wine making techniques, we just make wine in the way we feel is right for the grapes and season and most importantly, with maximum drinkability and enjoyment in mind. We hope you enjoy.
