One of the coolest Merlot's in the country. Why? Because it doesn't taste like any othe Australian Merlot. Juicy, dark and plump, plus, light, fun and bright. This is easy drinking table wine at its best. No added preservatives too! - Chris L

Variety: Merlot 20 years old, own roots (not grafted).
The Farm: ‘The Deans’ Picadilly Valley
The Terre: Red clay over sandstone with a eastern facing aspect at the bottom of a cold deep valley, V.S.P. trellis and spur pruned.
Vinification: Early picked destemmed and sangéed. Fermented and aged in a closed barrel on skins for 8 month.
Notes: As usual my Merlot is a dark creature, they don’t call me Captain Merlot for nothing!!!!

Our Lucy M Vineyard is farmed using biodynamics; a decade’s old proven method of maximizing the vines’ potential while caring for the Earth. Our little winery has many labels from our own and other small pockets of vineyard land that surround our Basket Range estate. All our wines are made ‘naturally’ without and additions until their bottling, when we add minimal sulphur. With the care and love we put into every little ferment even Pinot Noir the most elusive of grape varieties makes intense, individualistic wines of superior quality. - Winery Note
