If it wasn't a full bodied powerful 14.5% Pinot I would think it was not made true to its style. But true to taste style it delivers - right upfront you get the sweet hit of vibrant dark cherry-like fruit and oak. And don't even think about drinking it without food. I loved it with barbecued chicken marinated in soy and honey, with grilled fennel and pumpkin. Good dose of acidity and tannin to handle the richer food too. Tete De Cuvee means the best wine of the vintage. This wine was born through Bill and Dan's love of the great Premier Cru and Grand Cru red wines and their desire to make the best Pinot Noir of which Picardy is capable. This wine is not a reserve wine made in the usual method of selecting the best barrels for separate bottling. Instead, it is made entirely as a separate wine with a heavier emphasis on intensity, complexity, structure and cellaring potential. - Winery Note

Picardy produces wines of finesse and complexity; Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc. All Picardy wines are made to be drinkable in their youth, but will reward cellaring. The red wines of Picardy are particularly noted for their vibrant colours and intense fine grained tannins, a hallmark of the Pemberton region..
