Tom Shobbrook makes Shiraz that's a bit different to those made by many of his Barossa mates. Hence he calls it Syrah. It's lighter, spicier and very unique. think Crozes-Hermitage or Cornas. There are peppery, root vegetable and lifted aromatics that flow onto a palate that while robust in some ways is also very elegant. The balance is excellent! Decant and serve with food. Do not be disheartened by a little spritz, it will blow off in time. - Chris L

Tom Shobbrook is Shobbrook Wines. His family estate in the Seppeltsfield area of the Barossa Valley has grown fruit for many years supplying wineries throughout the region. Tom is a winemaker who keeps his finger on the pulse during the process but doesn't interfere with the process. That's natural, that's minimal-intervention, that's his ethos. his wines speak for themselves. The Shobbrook wines come from family plots while his other labels "Didi" and "Didier" are made from fruit grown by friends and are fun and experimental wines.
