Nero D'Avola

When it comes to Italian wines, few are as influential as Nero d’Avola, a red wine which is a firm favourite with wine lovers worldwide.

Described as the most important red grape in Sicily, Nero d’Avola has become synonymous with medium to full-bodied red wines that are consumed the world over. Often compared to New World Shiraz, the wines combine dark fruit characters together with spicy pepper and a distinct note of dried herbs. It has a characterful, fruity bouquet, not dissimilar to the fragrance of blackberries, and is as delightful on the nose as it is on the palette.
